You may not have ever noticed this, but up until a few days ago I’ve never had any type of WordPress “related posts” at the bottom of any of my articles. The reason is because most of them sucked. Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with them per se, but they just didn’t do what I wanted them to do.
Most of the related posts plugins that are available rely on some type of algorithm that defines how the post is related, and some of them even let you tinker with how you want to define the relation. Most often, the plugins relate posts through keywords, titles, and the body of your actual post. The problem is that our fabulous English language is complicated. Before installing my new secret weapon, I tried another fabulous find that allowed me to help create a unique algorithm but it wanted to related my post on credit cards to my post on giving credit when it’s due. Ugh. English be damned!
I bet you can imagine how thrilled I was when I found Micro Kid’s Related Post plugin. Let me show you how this baby works. Check out the video below. Yep. Ah-ma-zing. Don’t tell my husband, but I’m in love.
By the way, if you’re wondering what all that other stuff is when I scroll down on my screen, here’s a quick run-down on what I use behind the scenes:
Thesis Thesis adds a “all-in-one-SEO” type system to each post that allows me to add things like a custom title tag, meta description, images, etc.
Scribe You can view more information on Scribe in the video to your right. It takes ALL the guess work out of SEO.
Related Posts This is the plugin we’re discussing in this post.
Grab a chair, kitten. Yes you - the business adventurer.

Thank you for this information. I tried this plugin but I can't figure out how you changed “related post” to “Did you like these posts? Try these ones.”
So glad you liked the post! Editing the options is super easy. Underneath tools on the left hand side of your admin dashboard you'll see “related posts”. That's where you're going to be able to change the text and a few other really cool options.
Wow. I’ve been looking for a plugin to do exactly this… tried YARPP, but not interested in the algorithm… not just because it guesses wrong, but also to do effective onsite SEO it’s nice to have the internal links spread out evenly. Thanks for find this, and even recording a video! Woot!
You’ll love it even more once you’re using it on your site. It works like … magic!
